MANILA--Far Eastern University overcame National University, 25-21, 25-22, 16-25, 25-20, to secure its tenth win in UAAP women's volleyball in the final playdate of the elimination round held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

With the victory, the green and gold side assured itself of at least a playoff for the twice-to-beat advantage, which would occur when Ateneo de Manila prevails over De La Salle in the second scheduled match-up later Sunday.

NU, meanwhile, managed only a single win in the second round of the tournament, finishing the elims with a 7-7 standing. Nevertheless, the Sampaloc-based squad would continue to see action, facing the Archers in the semifinals.

Bernadette Pons was adjudged best player of the match with 17 points on 16 attacks and one service ace.
