MANILA--Just six years into his PBA playing career, June Mar Fajardo has already etched his name into basketball history books.

The 28-year old Cebuano unanimously notched his 6th Galvalume 55- PBA Best Player of the Conference Award prior totip-off of Game 4 of the PBA Philippine Cup finals Wednesday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The 6-foot-10 product of the University of Cebu amassed 1,279 total points on 468 SPs, 551 Media votes, 110 players’ votes, and 150 PBA votes, beating out SMB teammate Arwind Santos who came in a far second with 670 points. Ginebra San Miguel forward Japeth Aguilar finished third with 589 total points.

Fajardo averaged 22.9 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game going into the finals of the season-opening conference.

Rounding out the top five were Global Port guard Stanley Pringle (406 pts.) and Blackwater center JP Erram (392 pts.)

Fajardo’s feat eclipsed the previous record of five BPC awards he shared with former SMB star and mentor Danny Ildefonso.  It is also his fifth straight in the Philippine Cup.

He later shared his award to his SMB teammates.
