Columbian shocks ROS as latter suffers first loss

PASAY--Columbian pulled a major shocker in the PBA Commissioner's Cup after dealing Rain Or Shine its first loss of the conference through a 104-96 decision at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday night.

Anchored by another solid game from John Fields, the Dyip pulled the upset trigger on the Elasto Painters as their key locals showed their way as well.

Columbian surged ahead in the first quarter, opening a 19-10 lead midway through the period before finishing the quarter with 31 points.

ROS, however, took control of the third quarter, opening the period on an 8-0 run and even leading for most of it.

The Dyip then shut down the E-Painters in the final frame, limiting them to only 16 points.

Fields went 13-of-17 from the field and 7-of-8 from the line for 34 points with 11 rebounds, five assists, one block, and one steal.

Rashawn McCarthy added 23 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Reggie Johnson made 30 markers, 17 rebounds, two assists, and three steals for ROS.
