PASIG -- For Noel Marcaida, bottom side Global Cebu is still a threat to league-leading Kaya Iloilo's title aspirations, as the pair will tangle in league play in Biñan on Wednesday.

This comes after last season's runners-up have let go their core trio of Rufo Sanchez, Wesley Dos Santos, and Paolo Bugas as it was revealed in various outlets that the struggles of the Queen City side had come public since Alvin Carranza purchased the club from Dan Palami in December last year.

"You cannot take them lightly. On our part, kelangan namin i-continue yung ginagawa ng players," Marcaida said on Tuesday, as they stake their four-match winning run in Laguna that will be billed as Cebu's home match.

Riding high from their rousing debut in Iloilo last Sunday, Marcaida still stressed that it's their players that did the job for them, as they hope to continue their momentum against the cellar dwellers, who are still legitimate challengers for the double of the PFL and the Copa Paulino.

"They really worked hard and they wanted to showcase the talent that na meron sila," he added. "We just wanted to make sure that all the Ilonggos will go home happy with the result."
