PASAY--Junemar Fajardo expressed optimism that his fellow Gilas player Chris Standhardinger will thrive with San Miguel despite a woeful start to his PBA career.

Standhardinger, the first overall pick of last year's draft, only put up four points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals off the bench in his maiden journey in the league, an 85-93 Beermen loss to the Meralco Bolts at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday night.

But for Fajardo, the first pick of the 2012 draft, it was just a case of first game jitters.

"Tagal narin ni Christian naglalaro. Makaka-adapt naman siya sa sistema ni Coach [Leo Austria]. Siyempre first game niya kanina then nanibago siya sa tawagan pero hindi naman big deal ‘yun," said Fajardo, who like Standhardinger played in the ABL before declaring for the PBA Draft. "Yung chemistry lang siguro [ang kailangan naming ayusin]."
