SAN JUAN -- Gilas Cadets were looked dead and buried for the first three quarters, but went wide awake in the final frame to frustrate a game UE side with a 63-61 nailbiter in the final game of Tuesday's tripleheader of the FilOil Flying V Premier Cup tonight at the FilOil FlyingV Centre.

Jong Uichico's cadets tightened up their defense in the payoff period, limiting the Red Warriors to just four points to get their second win in a thrilling fashion.

Abu Tratter fired for 13 points to lead the nationals, but it was Juan Gomez De Liaño who fired the go-ahead layup in the final 1:03 of the game, capping off their 13-0 finishing kick after being behind by as much as eleven.

The Red Warriors battled valiantly until fatigue stepped in, spotting Gilas with a pair of double digit runs in the middle quarters, most notably their 14-0 blitz in the third.

Alvin Pasaol was the usual suspect for UE, scoring 22 on 25% shooting from the field in a losing effort for Joe Silva who dropped to 1-2.
