QUEZON CITY--Chris Newsome showed firepower on Friday night, dropping 30 points to lead Meralco over NLEX at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

But overshadowing his explosion was his 30th point, which came on a mid-range jumper with 1.6 seconds left and the Bolts way ahead of the Road Warriors.

That shot did not sit well with Coach Yeng Guiao, who after shaking hands with Coach Norman Black blurted out cusses at Newsome.

But for the six-foot-two combo guard, he was just taking note of the quotient rule.

"I'm just playing basketball and just following orders from my head coach," said Newsome.

He also said that he is already used to Guiao's lashing.

"I know he does that a lot and pretty often. I've seen him getting confrontations with a couple of other players," Newsome continued.

Because of which, he thinks he already found a way to stop things from getting more chippy.

"For me, the best thing is not to react to it and move on to the next one," he bared.
