"We stand by Kiefer," the Road Warriors explained in a statement on Monday night, just when the press conference confirming the sad development was happening.
They further stated, "In the time we’ve worked with Kiefer, we have known him to be a man of integrity and honor. He has always abided by the principles of fair play and sportsmanship since he was a young boy, which he has continued to demonstrate in his career and as a role model to the youth through his civic activities."
They also expressed their support to the SBP, which is seeking clarification to FIBA if the ban includes his stint with them.
"We support the SBP's action to seek clarification with FIBA regarding the ruling with regards to whether the suspension will apply to the PBA," NLEX's statement continued.
Despite of it, the team continued, "We will respect and uphold whatever the final decision will be."
The Road Warriors are set to face the Blackwater Elite on Wednesday night as the Commissioner's Cup resumes from the All-Star Break.
