BATANGAS CITY--In a friendly battle like the PBA All-Star Game, an altercation is the last thing you would see.

However, the unthinkable happened on Friday night.

Terrence Romeo and Arwind Santos had a heated moment with 4:52 left in the second leg of the PBA All-Star Week at the Batangas City Sports Center.

The moment came right after Santos, whose Luzon All-Star team trailed Romeo's Smart National Team, 127-142, prior to the play, made a layup against Romeo, who was looking to get a charging foul from Santos.

Thinking that Santos was blocking his way as he was preparing to go to the baseline for the inbound pass, Romeo appeared to hit Santos' torso, causing both to stare at each other for a second before Santos decided to turn away from Romeo to avoid tension to rise further.

However, Romeo, who incurred a technical foul for the said confrontation along with Santos, said that it was just part of the game.

"Wala naman yun," Romeo said.

In the end, Romeo had the last laugh over Santos as the Smart All-Stars subdued Luzon, 152-149.

And that is despite Santos waxing hot a bit down the stretch.

Romeo scorched for 48 points, setting a new individual All-Star Game record in points and earning him MVP honors.
