BINAN--The Philippine Volcanoes' feeder program, known as the Philippine Residents XV, goes to action on Saturday as the team takes on Guam in a friendly at the Southern Plains rugby field in Calamba.

Guam is fresh from ruling the Asia Rugby Division III Championship, romping Brunei and China, and this time, the squad heads to Calamba to battle the Residents in the 3 p.m. kick-off.

“Guam has had a great week, being the Division 3 champions, which is very well deserved. With a stopover in the Philippines before their final trip home, they reached out to Philippine Rugby to see the possibility of putting together an international match for the development of both our teams. It’s great to host Guam for this match,” said PRFU's general manager Jakey Letts. “It's really exciting to see both teams take the field of battle on Saturday.”

Current and prospective Volcanoes will make up the Residents with most of the members coming from Eagles, who call the said venue home.

Joe Dawson, the designated vice captain, Gaz Holgate, Jonel Madrona, and Harry Morris are among the prominent players who will play on Saturday.

The match serves as part of the selection for the Volcanoes lineup that will play in the Division I Championship that the Philippines will host on June 23 and 26.

In the appetizer at 12:15 p.m., the championship game in the women's division of the SPI 15's will take place.
