Bong Go admits after seeing MPBL foes: "Salimpusa lang ako"

QUEZON CITY--Bong Go admitted that the MPBL is at a totally different level of basketball than the UNTV Cup.

"Noong nakita ko ang mga kalaban, sina Marlou Aquino, medyo tama nga. Salimpusa lang ako," the special assistant to President Rodrigo Duterte said. "Mga higante yung kalaban ko. Di kakayanin."

The Muntinlupa guard, although suited up for the team's Datu Cup debut against newcomer Mandaluyong, was actually nowhere to be found at the Muntinlupa bench.

However, he participated in a special three-point shootout that took place during the opening ceremonies at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and even graced the ceremonial toss in the GenSan-Marikina match that signaled the start of the new tournament.

The Cagers, runners-up in the previous Rajah Cup, still prevailed over the debuting El Tigre, 86-74, in a match that ended past midnight of Wednesday.
