MANILA--Special Assistant to the President Bong Go lauded the heads of the SBP for giving the Philippine government the opportunity to help in making the FIBA 3x3 World Cup at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue possible.

"Nagpapasalamat po ako kay Sir Manny Pangilinan (chairman emeritus) at si Mr. Sonny Barrios (executive director) for including me here sa preparation," Go said during the second day of the five-day event. "First time ko pong makasali sa FIBA."

On the aid the Duterte administration gave out, Go, who acts as the co-chairman of the organizing committee, said, "Kami po ang tumulong sa security saka po sa pag-organize nito."

He added, "Very very important po sa kanya (Duterte) ang sports. In fact, last year, nag-bid po ang Pilipinas for hosting the FIBA [World Cup] sa 2023. Full support po ang gobyerno although it's beyond his term niya."

Go, who aside from playing for Malacañang-PSC in the UNTV Cup Executive Face-off will suit up for Muntinlupa in the upcoming MPBL Datu Cup, also expressed his optimism that the hosting of the 2023 FIBA World Cup will be very beneficial for the country.

"Napakaimportante na pag nakita ng mga ibang countries na maganda yung pagho-host natin, it will also promote tourism," he said.
