SAN JUAN -- Gilas Cadets banked on their all-around game to end their Group A campaign in the FilOil-Flying V Premier Cup on a high note, dumping still- winless EAC, 82-69 in the final game of the Tuesday quadrupleheaders at the San Juan Arena tonight.

All but one Cadet fielded by Jong Uichico scored at least a field goal, with Matt Nieto leading the way with 15 points on a 4/7 clip from downtown to end their stint in the preseason tournament with a 4-5 card.

Jerome Garcia paced the Generals with 15 markers despite an atrocious 33% clip from the field, yet despite having more players in double figures, Ariel Sison's troops cannot avoid the possibility of being shutout, condemning them to their eight straight defeat.

Despite their obvious advantage on paper, Gilas Cadets were left to rue their chances of blowing the game wide open, only leading by as much as 17, 69-52 on a Juan Gomez De Liaño triple, while being outrebounded by one in the process.
