JUST ONE POINT.

That's what's Ceres Negros need to retain the PFL title when they take on Global Cebu for the second time on Wednesday at the Rizal Memorial.

The Busmen smothered the retooled Queen City side in a 7-1 rout Saturday evening to get their 51st point of the league campaign right after Stallion Laguna gave them a massive favor with a 2-0 blanking of Kaya Iloilo at the same day to leave the latter stuck at 33 points with six matches left in their schedule.

Attempting to become only the second side in the modern history to retain a league title, a draw in either of their final four matches is enough for the PFL trophy to remain in Panaad.

Last season, Negros took the inaugural season with a 4-1 rout of their Visayan rivals in the final in Panaad.

Philippine Air Force were the most recent side to retain the league crown, doing so in just the second season of the old United Football League in 2011 in which they drew with Global in the final day in UMak.
