MANILA -- It took a last minute equalize to deny Global Cebu its winning return into the PFL but a point will suffice to put a massive dent to the title chances of a woeful Davao Aguilas side in a 1-1 draw today at the Rizal Memorial.

With new ownership and new signings, Cebu finally played a match for a long time after an arduous month for the Queen City club, which saw key cogs to their double two years ago bolted to the other clubs.

Davao had to come from the back door to snatch a draw, but the result sees them 20 points adrift of leaders Ceres Negros with seven matches left in their schedule.

Parading with new signings, mostly from the wooden spoon side, Davao hoped to bounce back from their embarrassing return in Tagum but they went behind just fourteen minutes in, with Daryl Roberts latching on Marvin Angeles ball from the midfield to beat his former club teammate Patrick Deyto on a counter.

The Aguilas had several chances to get back into the game, but they were denied by an inspired Florencio Badelic in between the sticks for the entire match.

Newly signed Paolo Salenga had Davao escape from its ultimate embarrassment when he equalized deep in stoppage time from a Matthew Hartmann cross, but the damage is severe that they have to just pray and hope that Negros or Kaya Iloilo stumble in order for them to snatch the league title.
