MANILA--The Philippine Blu Girls went off to an impressive start in their Asian Games softball campaign in Jakarta.
The Blu Girls shut out Hong Kong, 8-0, to jump start their stint.
They then subdued South Korea, 5-3, and China, 1-0, on Monday to score 3-0 up in the standings.
"Our Blu Girls’ three successive wins against Hong Kong, Korea, and powerhouse China is a testament to the talent and dedication of our women’s national softball team. They have what it takes to deliver a podium finish for the Philippines," said ASAPHIL president Jean Henri Lhuillier.
The Blu Girls will face defending champion Japan later Tuesday, while they will take on Indonesia and Chinese Taipei on Wednesday.
