MANILA--Kaya Iloilo gave the province's Sports Complex a fitting farewell on their league campaign after tearing slumping Global Cebu apart for a 6-0 thrashing on their final home match Saturday afternoon.

The home side put itself at the cusp of securing the runner-up spot in the table, fending off the challenge of pretenders Davao Aguilas with three matches to spare with the rout erecting them an insurmountable 10-point gap at the table. Iloilo only has Stallion Laguna, which has a match at hand, to beat to seal the second spot.

Hometown hero Jovin Bedic bagged a six-minute brace in the second half to lead the home side to their third win on the trot ahead of their titanic tiff with Laguna eight days from now.

Miguel Tanton (24') and Robert Lopez-Mendy (26') found the net past new signing Louie Casas to open the floodgates in the first half.

The drought caught the home side in the second half, where they had close shaves midway into the restart.

But Bedic quickly put an end to that dry spell in the 69th minute with an assist from the Senegalese, then completed the double in the 75th with another shot from inside the box.

Then in the dying moments, substitutes Jayson Panhay (85') and Connor Tacagni (90') put the finishing touches to a glorious finale at the city of Nobles.
