MANILA--Laguna finally clinched a win at his own battleground, the Alonte Sports Arena in Binan.
And the team did it in style.
The Heroes pounced a lethargic Paranaque Patriots squad, 76-52, in the main game of the MPBL Datu Cup doubleheader on Saturday night.
Laguna blasted for 28 points in the first quarter before limiting Paranaque to just nine points in the second quarter and eight in the third en route to the blowout.
Fresh from helping Go for Gold lift the PBA D-League Foundation Cup title two nights back, Jai Reyes went for 21 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and three steals for the Heroes, who now took sole possession of eighth place in the Southern Division at 3-4.
Michael Mabulac added 18 points, seven rebounds, two blocks, and one steal.
Ryusei Koga was the lone bright spot for the now 4-3 Patriots, making three triples en route to an 11-point game with two rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
