Lyceum stay spotless, blasts skidding Perps

SAN JUAN --  Lyceum continued it's undefeated run in the first round of the eliminations of the of the NCAA Season 94 men's basketball tournament, blasting the season hosts Perpetual Help in a 91-77 thrashing in the last game of the Friday tripleheader tonight at the FilOil-FlyingV Centre.

Topex Robinson's Pirates dominated the game from the opening tip for their sixth straight win this season, with reigning MVP CJ Perez Leading the way with 26 points on an efficient 56% clip from the field to go along with 10 rebounds for a double-double.

Perez did the most damage in the first half by scoring 19 markers, fourteen of which came in the second including a last-second triple to put the Pirates up by ten heading into the break.

Jaycee Marcelino then took over in the second half, scoring all but two of his twenty points there while coming off the bench to extend their unbeaten run in the eliminations to 24 straight wins dating from last year.

The nine-man rotation by Frankie Lim did little help for the Altas's cause, Prince Eze tallied 20 for the season hosts who fell down to .500 midway into the first round.

Quarter Scores: 21-18, 48-38, 68-59, 91-77.
