PASIG--POC secretary general Pato Gregorio rued the decision of the NBA to bar Jordan Clarkson from playing for Gilas in the Asian Games.

"I am at a loss for words. All I can say is 'NBA, you broke our hearts,'" Gregorio said in a statement on Sunday. "You broke the hearts of 100 Million Filipinos. We will never forget this."
He also sees the rule by the league in which the players cannot be cleared to play in non-FIBA-sanctioned tournaments like the Asiad as "a rule that will never be understood" considering the case of Houston's Zhou Qi.
Qi, despite being under contract with the Rockets, will suit up for China in the Asian Games.
