MANILA--TNC Predator made history in Day 3 of the group stages of The International 2018 after its Game 2 win against Serenity at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Saturday (Philippine Time).
The Filipino squad became the first team in all of TI to pull a comeback win despite its opponent already with mega creeps twice.
With Zhao Zixing, playing as Alchemist leading the way, Serenity razed all of TNC's creep barracks to get the mega creep bonus.
However, with Armel Tabios, Marc Fausto, and Sam Hidalgo impressing with their comfort heroes Templar Assassin, Phantom Lancer, and Mirana respectively, Zhao eventually succumbed as his teammates struggled, and Serenity called GG after almost an hour.
The win forced a 1-1 draw between the two sides, but that kept TNC Predator in third place in Group B at 7-7, drawing the Filipino club closer to joining VGJ Storm in the upper bracket.
The draw put Serenity in a three-way tie with Pain and Vici for sixth place at 5-7, a game behind Secret for fourth place with one day left in the preliminaries. Serenity, Pain, and Vici are one game clear of last place, which will mean outright elimination from the tournament.
TNC Predator and Secret will collide midnight Sunday (Philippine Time) as both sides look to seal their places in the upper bracket.
