TNC, Virtus Pro settle for draw

By Ivan Saldajeno

MANILA--TNC bounced back from a sloppy start to force a 1-1 tie against Virtus Pro in their The International 2018 group stage series at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Friday (Philippine Time).

TNC went off to a slow start in Game 1 as the club struggled to hold the fort while Armel Tabios was boosting his Templar Assassin.

Eventually, Roman Kushnarev's Phantom Lancer was able to keep up with Tabios with huge help from captain Alexei Berezin playing as Silencer.

TNC got a huge opportunity when Tims Randrup snapped Kushnarev's godlike streak, but TNC's slow play afterward paved the way for Virtus Pro to recover and force the GG in the 50th minute.

Meanwhile, in an interesting Game 2 where everyone except Berezin and Vladimir Nikogosyan changed their respective in-game names, Marc Fausto's clutch moments as Lancer did the trick as Kushnarev's Gyrocopter lost steam in the end.
