MANILA--The Zamboanga Valientes, headed by former PBA player Reed Juntilla, vow to regain their winning ways when they clash with the San Juan Knights in the 2018 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Anta Datu Cup on Sept. 5 at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.

After losing narrowly against the Rizal Crusaders (73-77) last Tuesday, the Family Brand Sardines-backed Valientes are expected to come back stronger and wiser when they play their eighth game in the conference supported by Zamboanguenos.

Juntilla, who is averaging 21 points in seven games, will get the needed support from Von Lanete, center Rino Berame, Jonathan Pareno, Jomarie Lacastesantos, Grevani Rublico, Noy Javier, ex-pro Leo Avenido, Das Esa, Rudy Unde, Lloyd Castor and Arden Guiyab against San Juan.

Zamboanga, under the tutelage of coach Ednie Morones, is presently holding a 4-3 win-loss record.

The Valientes though will be facing a tougher task of beating the Knights (5-1) of coach Randy Alcantara. But team manager Alvin Munio is optimistic that Zamboanga will be able to answer the challenge of San Juan’s former PBA players Mac Cardona and John Wilson come game time.

Munio believes that Zamboanga would be motivated by the fans all over the country particularly from the south to work hard on the way to more victories up to the championship round.
