Claire Castro has a strong comeback against UE after sitting out the previous season. She led the FEU offense with 13 points and 13 rebounds with only 2 turnovers.
The game started off pretty slow due to both teams missing a lot from the field, a recurring happening throughout the game but FEU was able to end the first quarter off of Castro's layup, 10-8.
UE would later on try their luck and push the pace but with varying success. It wasn't all for naught though as they would gain the lead in the 2nd quarter, 17-14, with 5:34 remaining. Desperate to find an answer to the Lady Warriors' run, Castro utilizes her height multiple times in the quarter to help give FEU the lead at the end of the 2nd, 30-19.
Coming back after the half, the Lady Warriors would try their hand at regaining the lead but the back-to-back threes of Valerie Quiapo would help stave off UE in the 3rd. The Lady Warriors would never recover from their shooting slump and would go on to lose the game entirely, 52-34.
For the Lady Warriors, Anna Requiron's 11-point double-double was not be enough as the team would only shoot a total of 20.83%.
