MANILA--The San Miguel Beermen torched the Columbian Dyip through a three-point party game in the PBA Governors’ Cup, 143-119, Friday afternoon at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The Beermen got its second win in three matches led by Arwind Santos, who bagged 29 points on 7-of-13 shooting from beyond the three-point arc.

Although the Dyip managed to have a good first half ending it at 66-64 in favor of them, the Beermen made a surge at the third period where they made 43 points while the Dyip only managed to score 18.

AZ Reid led the Beermen in a powerful third quarter in spite of having a sprained ankle in the last six minutes of the second period.

After a very good performance in the third quarter, San Miguel managed to have a 22 point advantage, 107-84, as they enter the fourth quarter.

SMB then rained threes in the fourth quarter led by Von Pessumal and Marcio Lassiter.

The Beermen accomplished a total of 23 three points, tying an all-time record made by the TNT KaTropa which they set back in 2009.

The win put the Beermen up to a 2-1 record.

AZ Reid finished a triple-double record of 16 points, 17 rebounds, and 11 assists. Marcio Lassiter gained 28 points while Chris Standhardinger contributed 21 points.

Jackson Corpuz made 28 points for the Columbian Dyip while Jerramy King and Akeem Wright both scored 22 points.

Those were still not enough to keep up with SMB even without its star player June Mar Fajardo who was still out due to his injury. This is the Dyip's sixth straight loss.
