TAGUIG--It may just be an All-Star Game, but it went down the wire as if it was the championship game.

A selection made up of past and present national team players rallied back in a 30-second stretch before beating the top players of the 7's Football League on penalties, 3-1, in the All-Star Game of the said tournament at the McKinley Hill Stadium on Monday night.

Known as the Azkals Legends, the team, led by tournament organizer Anton Del Rosario, cancelled out a hot outing from All-Star Daniel Matsunaga and stole the win in the shootout.

The actor, currently signed with Weekend Futbol League side Tala but representing Matu Deportivo in the 7's Football League, scored the opening goal in the eighth minute while completing the brace in the 40th minute for the All-Stars.

However, Ceres Negros' Kevin Ingreso scored one goal back for the Azkals Legends early into the 46th minute before former Ratchaburi player Mark Hartmann forced the 2-all deadlock 30 seconds later.

In the ensuing shootout, Del Rosario scored the opening goal to put the Azkals Legends ahead.

Hamed Hajimehdi went first in line for the All-Stars, but his spot kick only hit the top of the post before bouncing out, giving the Legends more cushion.

Matsunaga still tried to keep the All-Stars in the shootout after taking back Stephan Schrock's penalty with one of his own, but Hartmann hit the next penalty to seal the win for the Azkals Legends.
