MANILA--Cebu City looks to build a winning run as the team finally makes a homecoming in the MPBL Datu Cup on Saturday night.
The Sharks, currently at the cellar in the Southern Division with a 1-8 record, hope that a victory on their own floor at the Basak Coliseum inside the University of San Jose-Recoletos campus can overturn their fortunes.
However, they have to deal with a tough opponent in the 6-3 Makati Skyscrapers in their 9 p.m. affair.
A win could see Makati tying Bulacan in fourth place in the Northern Division.
In the first game at 7 p.m., Zamboanga and Basilan will clash in a derby showdown.
In the battle between teams situated in cities just separated by the Basilan Strait, the Valientes (4-5) and the Lamitan-based Steel (4-6) collide in a game that could either shape up the Southern Division playoff picture a bit or even complicate matters as the halfway point of the season approaches.
