MANILA--By the end of Wednesday night, only one of Blackwater and Magnolia's impressive PBA Governors' Cup stint will continue.

The Elite and the Hotshots, two of the three teams rocking the season-ending conference right now, lock horns in the main game of the midweek twinbill at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay.

Blackwater, currently in second place at 6-1, and Magnolia, just behind at 5-1, will collide at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The Elite actually momentarily tied Barangay Ginebra at the top on Sunday night with a huge 99-93 win against the Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters only for the Barangay to reclaim the solo lead with a 111-105 finals rematch win over the Meralco Bolts later in the night.

Blackwater has another chance to tie Ginebra again at number one with a win on Wednesday night, but coming in its way is a Magnolia team also looking to catch up with Ginebra in the leaderboard.

In the first game at 4:30 p.m., NLEX and Phoenix will face off.

The Fuel Masters, whose own hot start was derailed by the Barangay nearly two weeks ago, look to rebuild the winning run against the Road Warriors, who are also aiming to bounce back from their recent defeat also against the Barangay.
