Jamon, Ludovice sizzle as Pasay downs Imus

By Ivan Saldajeno

MANILA--Jan Jamon and Yvan Ludovice put on a scoring show with added clutch heroics as Pasay turned back Imus, 79-75, in the MPBL Datu Cup at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex on Wednesday night.

Jamon dropped 27 points, while Ludovice added 23, but none was more important than their huge baskets that highlighted the game-turning 6-0 blast by the Voyagers to subdue the Bandera.

Pasay was held scoreless for nearly two and a half minutes as Wilson Baltazar scored four straight points to put Imus up, 75-73.

The Voyagers got back on the board through a free throw from Julius Cadavis with 47 seconds to play.

But a huge stop leading to a Genmar Bragais miss set up a fastbreak lay-in by Jamon that put them up for good.

Yvan Ludovice then sealed the win with three free throws in the dying moments.

With the win, Pasay tied Pampanga in eighth place in the Northern Division standings at 4-7.

Jom Sollano's efficient game of 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting, 10 rebounds, one assist, and one steal went for naught as Imus lost for the second straight time and dropped into a tie with Zamboanga in sixth place in the Southern Division at 5-5.
