MANILA--With an impressive 27-3-1 record that he is going to carry, many would argue that Demetrious Johnson deserves a shot at a world title right in his very first fight under One Championship.

But Johnson said on Monday during a conference call with scribes across the globe that he is not in a hurry.

"I'm not looking to go there and get an immediate title shot," the former Ultimate Fighting Championship flyweight holder said.

He even added that he is willing to take the long road to Geje Eustaquio's One flyweight belt if needed.

"I have no problem working my way up to earn that championship spot," Johnson further said. "I'm gonna get back in the gym and make sure I'm 100 percent healthy."

Johnson moved to One as part of the first ever trade between the said promotion and the UFC, which in effect sent former One welterweight champ Ben Askren to the UFC.

Johnson then said that it may not take long before he finally gets to enter either the round cage or the five-rope ring of One.

"I'm thinking about, hopefully, maybe January or February depending on how my body holds up," he bared his target One debut month.
