QUEZON CITY -- The UE Lady Warriors faced the NU Lady Bulldogs in a highly physical matchup which saw both teams fighting until the very end of the game.
The 1st quarter saw both teams go toe-to-toe in terms of scoring and were utilizing almost the same set plays against each other. Although they were facing a top-ranked NU squad, the Lady Warriors did not back down so easily. They matched NU’s physicality with their speed and the NU defense was broken through speed.
This wouldn’t last long however as the Lady Bulldogs would come back with a vengeance in the 2nd quarter where they outscored UE, 26-19 and this would continue to be the trend all throughout the game.
Rhena Itesi of the Lady Bulldogs led all players with 22 points while Joyce Francisco scored 12 for the Lady Warrirors.
