Lady Tams overcome Tigresses in 3OT thriller

By: Karl Batungbacal

QUEZON CITY - The FEU Lady Tamaraws were able to pull out a four-point, 91-87 win over the UST Lady Tigresses in an intense back and forth that lasted three overtimes.
The action started with a slow and methodical pace, dictated by UST’s Irebu who scored a game-high 34 points.

They made great use of the spacing that FEU allowed them to have, especially in the midrange.

The Lady Tams, however, exploited the Lady Tigresses’ multiple lack of communication on the offensive end. Valerie Mamaril scored a team-high 23 points.

Both teams would continue to trade shots all throughout the game.
It was in the third quarter when the Lady Tams came back to tie the game after falling behind early in the game.

UST did have a chance to end the game in the fourth, but Irebu could only split her free throws and the game went into overtime.

The Lady Tams and Lady Tigresses both fought 'til the end but it was the Lady Tams' composure that helped them win the game over a very game UST squad.
