MAKATI -- The National Cheerleading Championship and ESPN5 forged an even better partnership for the former's 14th season in its launch Tuesday afternoon at the TGI Friday's restaurant within Greenbelt 3.

Attended by luminaries from both the network and the organization, the coverage of the NCC season 14 will kick off on October 6 with the South Luzon regionals in Las Pinas.

"We Are Fearless" is the theme of the NCC season, a mantra that is shared with the network going forward to their improved relationship.

"We pay tribute to the cheering squads, as they continue to take us into greater heights," said TV5 president Chot Reyes in his opening remarks, in which his niece Sam is part of the NCC-backed national team that took part in international cheerdance tilts.

NCC founder Carlos Valdes echoes the fearless nature the sport, as like other sports, requires grit and composure to stand throughout the trials.

"It requires courage over anxiety, resolve over doubt, discipline over comfort. You really have to be fearless," Valdes said.

The said deal will see a multi-level platform broadcast from the qualifiers up to the national championship, which is set on March 2019.
