MANILA—Petron Blaze displayed its ferocious form once again
as it cruised to a 25-18, 25-15, 25-18, win over Cocolife in the second of
Tuesday’s Philippine Superliga All-Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in
San Juan.
Aiza Maizo-Pontillas led the defending champions’ attack
with 14 points on 10 spikes and three blocks, while Ces Molina returned from
injury to contribute 10 in the one-hour, 31-minute encounter.
The win enabled the Blaze Spikers to a share of the early
lead with Smart-PLDT, which earlier waylaid Sta. Lucia Realty in the first
game.
Kalei Mau made a impressive debut for Cocolife with 13
points off 11 hits, but the Asset Managers’ 27 errors proved to be a telling
blow in the game.
