SHOCKER: UE demolished FEU to claim first win of the season

Pasay-- UE Red Warriors made a shocking win against the FEU Tamaraws claiming their first victory for UAAP S81, 90-65, September 30, Sunday at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. 

The Red Warriors established to take control since the first half led by Jason Varilla. 

Varilla made it rain threes and scored a total of 15 points all from downtown that gave UE a 12-point advantage, 43-31, at half-time. 

UE kept their momentum at the second half as Jason Straint made a long two before the third quarter ends that gave FEU a 17- point deficit, 63-46, as they head to fourth quarter.

Mark Maloles started the fourth quarter with back-to-back threes to extend their lead to 23 points, 69-46, with 8:50 left on the clock. 

The Red Warriors unleashed an 18-4 run in the fourth quarter and made a stunning 31-point advantage against the Tamaraws, 81-50.

The game ended in a shocking 25-point win in favor of UE, 90-65, that gave them their first victory after four winless games. 

Alvin Pasaol showed his usual performance contributing 25 points and 13 rebounds. Jason Varilla dropped 17 points where he scored 5-of-8 beyond the arc. Philip Manalang managed a double-double with 13 points and 12 assists. 

Hubert Cani and Arvin Tolentino led FEU with 23 combined points but failed to win in the arms of UE. They now have a 2-2 record sharing the third and fourth place spot with the DLSU Green Archers.
