QUEZON CITY -- The De La Salle Lady Archers pushed the pace early on and utilized a defense, highly reminiscent of their male counterparts’ “Mayhem Defense” from years back, dealing the UP Lady Maroons an 81-60 rout at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday.
Behind Charmaine Torres’ game-high 21 point outburst, they stifled any chance for a UP win despite Noella Cruz’s 15 points.
Early in the first half, the Lady Maroons were still able to keep up with the hot shooting of the Lady Archers, who shot a total of 43 percent compared to UP’s 31 percent.
A 24-8 third quarter blast punctuated the Lady Archers' barrage which helped down the Lady Maroons even more.
