UST ends first round by taming UP

PASAY CITY — After playing seven games, the UST Growling Tigers are now beginning to adapt to the system of Coach Aldin Ayo, winning this time against the UP Fighting Maroons with a 14-point lead, 87-72. 

CJ Cansino led the Growling Tigers by having 16 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals. 

Bright Akhuetie and Javi Gomez de Liaño led the UP Fighting Maroons with 18 and 12 points respectively. 

Both UST and UP now tied on 3-4 standings and will also play their next assignment on Sunday, 2 and 4 p.m., at the Mall of Asia Arena against the FEU Tamaraws and the Ateneo Blue Eagles.
