MANILA--After nearly two years, Brandon Vera's One heavyweight championship will be on the line.

One announced on Thursday that Vera will defend his belt on Nov. 23 against a promotion newcomer by the name of Mauro Cerilli.

"Brandon has been itching to get back in action to defend his heavyweight title for some time now, and I am thrilled to announce that he will be returning at One: Conquest of Champions. Brandon will have a very tough challenger in front of him in the form of Mauro Cerilli. The two provide an explosive matchup and a good contrast of styles,".

The Italian fighter is actually a veteran in the game, posting a 12-2 mixed martial arts record while holding an MMA title, the Cage Warriors heavyweight belt, before signing with One.

On the other hand, Vera will be making the second defense of his belt, but his first since successfully retaining the belt against Hideki Sekine on Dec. 2, 2016 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, the same venue where his upcoming title defense, the main event of One: Conquest of Champions, will take place.

As earlier announced, the said fight card will have Eduard Folayang taking on Amir Khan for the vacant One lightweight title. The said match will be the co-main event of the Nov. 23 schedule.
