Ateneo ends elims campaign with 40-point rout of UST

PASAY CITY -- With the absence of Steve Akomo and Super Rookie CJ Cansino, UST struggled to finish the season with a win, and the Ateneo Blue Eagles flew high with a 102-62 rout to their UAAP elimination round campaigns at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.

The Blue Eagles started the first period with 16 unanswered points, and the fire continued until the end of the game.

Ivorian rookie Ange Kouame led the Blue Eagles with 22 points as they got the win even without their head coach Tab Baldwin due to illness.

Two rookies, Toby Agustin and Joshua Marcos, UST stepped up for UST and finished the tournament with a strong performance after dropping 15 and 13 points respectively.
