PARANAQUE--Like Amir Khan, Eduard Folayang also expressed a high level of confidence for their One lightweight title match at One: Conquest of Champions at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay on Friday night.
"Ako din naman, 100 percent yung confidence ko," Folayang said during the press conference of the said fight card at the City of Dreams Grand Ballroom.
But Folayang also wants to make sure that this confidence will not translate to overconfidence come fight night.
"Nakita ko kasi sa kanya yung pagkakamali ng teammate ko last time na overconfident naman," Folayang continued, pertaining to what happened to fellow Team Lakay stalwart Honorio Banario when he found himself at the wrong end of a Round 1 rear naked choke submission by Khan at One: Beyond the Horizon on Sept. 8 in Shanghai.

"Di ko tine-taken for granted ang strength niya and kung ano ang magiging game plan niya sa akin," Folayang added.
"I think he wants to get my back, but I'm not giving in to him," he then vowed.
Folayang then responded to Khan's claim that he is a one-dimensional fighter, saying, "I respect his opinion, but I will capitalize at every opportunity that I have when we'll be taking each other on Friday."
