MANILA—University of Santo Tomas made quick work of Colegio
de San Agustin-Binan, 25-12, 25-13, 25-10, to cap off the first matchday of the
inaugural PSL Collegiate Grand Slam Tuesday afternoon at the Ynares Arena in
Pasig City.
Making its pre-season build-up to full use, the rookie-laden
Lady Tigresses displayed a merciless attacking spree to frustrate the Laguna-based
Lady Eagles to join early victors UP in the six-team tournament sponsored by Chooks-to-Go, UCPB Gen, Isuzu and SOGO Hotel..

each scored eight points in a balanced scoring bunch for UST, which featured 11
rookies and three holdovers.

UST’s offensive went on ballistic mode with 38 attacks as
compared to CSA’s 18 hits. The team also fired 12 services aces, while having a
6-1 edge in blocks.
Erika Aliana Rivera and Lency Duarte both accounted for four points for CSA, who will next face UP next Saturday in Binan, Laguna.
