Cebu City shocks Pasay with blowout win

MANILA--Cebu City turned on the jets on Thursday night and shattered Pasay, 76-61, in the MPBL Datu Cup at the STRIKE Gymnasium in Bacoor.

The Sharks surprised the Voyagers with a 24-11 first quarter before stretching their lead to as high as 28 points, and the Visayan side never looked back as it took the wire-to-wire victory.

Rhaffy Octobre put up 17 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists for Cebu City, which moved up to ninth place in the Southern Division at 7-11, a full game behind GenSan for the eighth spot.

Will McAloney came close to his own double-double with 11 rebounds and nine points with four assists and one block.

Shaq Alanes made 20 markers and three rebounds for Pasay, which missed out on tying Valenzuela for eighth place in the Northern Divsion and instead fell to a full game behind the latter.
