MANILA--Even if Gilas Pilipinas has a FIBA World Cup Qualifiers game on Monday night against Iran, the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League will still hold its own doubleheader at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig on the said night.

Makati and Mandaluyong, which call the said venue their temporary home, will take on separate foes as they will do a ground-sharing of sorts in a twinbill pitting Northern Division sides.

The Skyscrapers will battle the Caloocan Supremos in the first game at 7 p.m., while the El Tigre will take on the Bulacan Kuyas in the second game at 9 p.m.

It's actually a showdown between hot and cold teams as both Makati and Bulacan are currently in a good position right now, while Caloocan and Mandaluyong are struggling in form.

A victory by both the Skyscrapers (11-4) and the Kuyas (10-5) will bring them closer to the North leaderboard as Christmas approaches.

The El Tigre, on the other hand, look to build some momentum midway through the season with a huge upset against the Kuyas even as the Supremos will try to ignite what was left of their playoff hopes.
