QUEZON CITY—Fifty-two minutes and 49 seconds into the Philippine Basketball Association's first overtime game for 2019, Calvin Abueva was 1-for-12 from the field.
But with the game on the line, Phoenix's hardworking forward delivered, scoring the game-winning follow-up to give his team the 93-92 win against Meralco on Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

But even Abueva had no idea how he won it for the Fuel Masters.
"Di ko rin alam eh," he replied to reporters. "Yung last shot, siguro yun yung swerte ko."
Good thing for him, his trademark hustle did the trick.
"Yung rebound, pag-depensa, andoon eh. Nung overtime, ang lakas ng loob ko. Yung mga nagawa ko, yung offensive rebounds, nakatulong sa akin," continued Abueva, who actually came close to a double-double despite the off night offensively, grabbing 13 rebounds, nine off the offensive end, and nine points.
