Ateneo blitzes past UE to get back to winning ways

SAN JUAN -- Defending champions Ateneo snapped the two-game losing skid at the hands of NU with a classy 82-59 thrashing of UE to cap off the Wednesday quadruple-headers of the UAAP Season 81 Juniors' Basketball tournament at the FilOil-FlyingV Centre.

Boosted by the return of Forthsky Padrigao, the Blue Eaglets controlled the game in almost in its entirety, blasting the less-heralded Jr. Warriors at will to post its sixth win in nine games.

Kai Sotto was a man amongst boys hen he led all scorers with 30 points, which was backed up by David Diaz who posted a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Padrigao marked his return on the court with just two markers but made up for it as he was a rebound shy of a rare double-double after dishing out 12 assists.

Shane Dichoso had 15 for UE who slipped back at the bottom along with UP after falling to 1-8.
