MANILA--Davao Occidental subdued Paranaque, 92-82, to inch closer to the top seed in the Southern Division of the MPBL Datu Cup at the Valenzuela City Astrodome on Tuesday night.
The Tigers had control for most of the match, leading as much as 27 points, before keeping the Patriots at bay in the fourth quarter.
Mark Yee posted 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Southern Division-leading Davao Occ, which secured homecourt advantage in the first round of the playoffs after getting its 17th win against four losses.
James Regalado added 14 points of 4-for-6 shooting from three-point range, one rebound, one assist, and one steal off the bench.
Pao Castro and Justine Alano each scored 13 markers for Paranaque, which fell to 10th place in the South at 8-13.
