MANILA--It was a one-and-done stint in the Philippine Basketball Association for Jett Manuel.

After playing his rookie season with Ginebra, the so-called "Gingineer" decided to call it a career.

"Choosing to retire wasn’t easy," Manuel said on his Instagram account which confirmed the said move.
Despite his PBA career being abrupt, he remains optimistic on his future.

"I’m excited for everything that lies ahead," he further said.

He then reiterated that he will remain "connected to the game of basketball, but in a different form this time."

Manuel, a licensed civil engineer, was selected as the last pick of the first round of the 2017 PBA Draft after playing for the University of the Philippines.

However, he only played sparingly for the Barangay last season.

He will leave the league as a champion as they won the Commissioner's Cup.
