Northport beats NLEX for 2-0 start

MANILA—Sean Anthony and Mo Tautuaa led the Northport Batang Pier to a 95-90 win against the NLEX Road Warriors in the PBA Philippine Cup on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The tandem of Anthony (22 points, nine rebounds, five assists and seven steals) and Tautuaa (18 points) greatly helped in the Batang Pier's win.

Rookie Robert Bolick got also 14 points for this game after his sizzling performance in their game last Wednesday. 

JP Erram and JR Quiñahan got 19 and 18 points respectively, but they were still not enough as NLEX fell to 0-2 in the Philippine Cup. 

NorthPort will try to improve their winning streak as they will face Columbian Dyip on Friday, Jan.25, 4:30 p.m., at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

NLEX, on the other hand, will try to gain a win as they will face the TNT KaTropa on Wednesday, Jan 23, 7 p.m., at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
