PARAÑAQUE--Jason Perkins has been leading the way in the Rookie of the Year race in the recently concluded Philippine Basketball League season as per the stats with only the media, player, and the Commissioner's Office votes that remain to be seen.

But for the Phoenix forward, it is not even at his thoughts right now.

"I am not thinking about it at all," Perkins said on Thursday during the PBA Media Day at the Solaire Tent. "To be honest, I am not the type of guy that wants to think about tomorrow. Right now, what’s on my head is what I’m planning to eat and where I am supposed to go next."

But right now, he has his fellow Fuel Masters to thank for in his impressive maiden journey in Asia's premier play-for-pay cagefest.

"Throughout the season, I asked the guys a lot of questions. They really helped me out. [I have] been trying my best to apply it and good things are coming out," Perkins further said.

That is the same advice he can give to the incoming rookie class led by top selections CJ Perez, Ray-Ray Parks, and Robert Bolick.

"Just work hard and keep learning. Ask questions and when someone gives you advice, just take it in and apply it," Perkins specifically advised.
