MANILA—Gabe Norwood shone brightly in the clutch as Rain Or Shine held off Ginebra, 83-80, in the first Philippine Basketball Association game outside Mega Manila for the 2019 season at the Calasiao Sports Center on Saturday night.

With the Barangay threatening to steal the win with three minutes left, Norwood scored on back-to-back jumpers to keep the Elasto Painters afloat.

Norwood also helped save ROS' cause after swatting away LA Tenorio's layup with 38.5 seconds remaining.

Tenorio actually had a chance to redeem himself as he stole the ball from Norwood off an inbound pass, but with no timeout left for Ginebra, Tenorio was forced to take a halfcourt heave that did not even hit the rim at the final buzzer.

Norwood only finished with six points, but his last markers and the crucial block mattered a lot as the E-Painters are now 2-0.

Norbert Torres and Mark Borboran each made 12 points.

Japeth Aguilar put up a game-high 19 points for the Barangay, who are now at 1-2.
